Kari is an experienced model, mainly working in the areas of fashion, alternative and artistic contexts. She has been in the modelling world for several years and is an experienced model in both runway and print.
In 2005 Kari became part of Nocturnal Models Agency, now Nocturnal Agency working mainly in the alternative scene presenting models with an “edge”. In 2007 she joined the well known fashion agency “Stockholmsgruppen”. She was one of the first Swedish alternative models being able to combine both fashion and alternative styles of modelling.
Kari was called “The Chameleon” by a photographer after he saw how many different looks she had when modelling. In time it became more of a trademark for her. Modelling to Kari is…
- “It’s a way for me to combine several things I love. I get to act and play different parts. It’s creative in so many ways” she says.
During the years Kari has been published for example in Kamera & Bild, Skin Two, QLTR and Göteborgsposten, worked with designers like Atsuko Kudo and Naucler Design, appeared in advertisement for Sveriges Frisörföretagare and done runway shows at Umeå Fashion Wknd and STHLM Fashion Market.
THE ACTRESS
Besides modelling Kari also appear in films and music videos. For example she had the leading part in the video “Öppnar mitt hjärta” by Thomas DiLeva and she also participated in Elegant Machinery’s music video “Feel The Silence“.
THE ARTIST
Kari Berg is a versatile artist, ranging from electronic body music to opera. Her voice and appearance has been described as “somehow mainstream but with a dark edge”. During her years in the music business she has done both solo-appearances, collaborations and appeared as part of bands.
She is a mezzo-soprano who thinks about her voice the same way as theatre and modelling – Just as I portray different looks in photos, or play different characters in films, I also aim to use my voice in different ways, says Kari.
Her interest in music began early and she has always loved singing and acting. In 2008 she joined the synth-pop band “Ashbury Heights” and released the album “Take Cair Paramour” in 2010, followed by appearances at for example M’era Luna, Amphi and Belgium Gothic Festival. The band disbanded in the end of 2010 and Kari turned to focus more on her solo project and collaborations.
In November 2010 Kari announced that she joined forces with the Swedish Electro/EBM-act “Chaos All Stars”. The band has already released several songs featuring Kari on vocals. In 2011 she has also appeared as guest star on albums by Ad Inferna and DE_TOT_COR and Psy’Aviah.
